About the position

Responsibilities

  • Release Readiness & Deployment – Validate configuration, manage CI/CD rollouts, execute smoke tests/health checks, and trigger rollback when required.
  • Monitoring & Observability – Maintain and optimize dashboards, alerts, and queries using tools such as New Relic, ELK/Grafana, and SQL‑based analysis to ensure real‑time visibility of performance and anomalies.
  •  Incident Response & Post‑mortem – Act as Tier‑2 escalation, investigate production issues across application, infrastructure, and database layers, drive root‑cause analysis, and implement preventive actions to shorten MTTR and improve uptime.
  • Change & Environment Management – Track infrastructure and DevOps changes, coordinate with stakeholders, and continuously refine deployment and operational flows for efficiency and reliability.
  • Cross‑Team Collaboration & Influence – Partner with QA, Game Producers, DevOps, and Account‑Facing teams to align priorities and communicate production health; champion best practices across the organisation.

Requirements

Technical Skills

  • Monitoring & Databases: Proficiency with observability platforms (e.g., New Relic, Datadog, Grafana) and strong SQL for deep‑dive analysis.

  •  Cloud Fundamentals: Working knowledge of AWS (S3, EC2, basic IAM) or similar cloud provider concepts.
  • Web Debugging: Ability to interpret JSON payloads and diagnose HTML/CSS integration issues.
  • Networking Basics: Understanding of caching, proxies, DNS, and load‑balancing for end‑to‑end troubleshooting.

Operational & Problem‑Solving

  • Proven track record in production operations, SRE, or release management roles.
  • Demonstrated ability to resolve complex, cross‑component incidents and prevent recurrences.
  • Familiarity with defining SLOs, MTTR targets, and post‑deployment support processes.

Soft Skills

  •  Clear communicator who can translate technical findings for both engineers and business stakeholders.
  •  High sense of ownership, reliability, and quality.
  • Calm under pressure; able to adapt to shifting production priorities, including off‑hours rotations.
